Friendship Centres are not-for-profit corporations which are mandated to service the needs of all Aboriginal people regardless of legal definition. This necessitates responding to thousands of Aboriginal people requiring culturally-sensitive and culturally appropriate services in urban communities. Friendship Centres deliver programmes in areas such as health, justice, family support and employment and training. Friendship Centres also design and deliver local initiatives in areas such as education, economic development, children's and youth initiatives and cultural awareness.
